SG Carved Top

The SG Carved Top was a limited run of 350 units produced in 2009 (likely 350 of each color, although Gibson did not specify). The design was based on the SG Diablo. Interestingly, each finish was unique for having a different fretboard material. Each guitar has an ink-stamped number out of 350 on the back of the headstock. Unlike most USA models, these include a certificate of authenticity. In 2012, the SG Diablo Premium Plus was released with similar specifications to this model, the biggest difference being a bound Slim Taper neck that joins the body at the 22nd fret. In 2016, the SG Supreme returned with similar specifications to this model, the biggest differences being a bound headstock and fretboard, Slim Taper neck, the fretboard inlays and the neck joining the body at the 22nd fret.
