The SG Classic was introduced in 2000, sitting at the same price point as the Special in the lineup, below the Standard. It was produced until 2003, after which it became an exclusive model for Guitar center and Musician's Friend, until finally being discontinued in 2013. In 2011, a version was released in a Faded finish.
