The SG Zoot Suit was introduced in August 2009.[1] "Zoot" is jazz slang for something that's extravagant, and a "Zoot Suit" was a style of suit popular among 1940s jazz musicians.[2] The common element between a Zoot Suit and this guitar are the stripes. The SG Zoot Suit's unique build process involves dying individual strips of Birch various colors and then compressing and bonding them together. The body design is the same as the SG Diablo, having a carved top and the same control layout. The Zoot Suit is generally a little heavier than most SGs due to its body construction. It was discontinued in 2010.
